Methods of Extraction

The Traditional Japanese Method of Extraction involves hand-picking the fruit/seeds, once they reach maturity. They are washed in steaming hot water, which also helps to soften the outer skin. The seeds are then naturally sun/air dried and cold-pressed between two wooden boards (much like an olive oil press), to release their elixir. Finally, the "Camellia Oil" is strained at least six times (for delicate facial use). Japan’s traditional method of extraction & preparation is leading edge & sets the gold standard for all others, creating a superior quality, 100% pure, crystal clear, colourless, odourless, ultra-fine, super nutrient-rich, luxurious, plant essence, perfectly compatible for the most sensitive skin. Due to its extremely light consistency, it easily penetrates, is quickly & thoroughly absorbed & immediately begins its nourishing & rejuvenating effects. You'll notice a difference after the first application & may not ever need to use any other creams or moisturizers again, (usually containing unfriendly preservatives, colours, parabens & chemicals). Other inferior methods of extraction begin with oven roasted seeds, instead of natural sun/air drying - the Japanese method is simply the best & has been used for centuries. Other methods involve several processes & the use of metal machines and chemical treatments. The seeds are ground up, to extract the oil - a cheaper, faster process, unlike like the Japanese, cold-pressing technique, which helps the oil retain its whole botanical integrity, amazing antioxidant/anti-aging properties & superior natural, phyto chemical energy. Next, the oil is strained (usually only once), but microscopic, sharp shards may still remain, with this less expensive method & strong smell & yellow colour indicates particles & impurities, which may irritate or damage sensitive skin, causing bacteria, skin eruptions & leading to low-grade infections. (Beware of poor quality, harmful immitations, from China/Taiwan, which are bottled in plastic, thick, do not absorb well, have an odour & are significantly less expensive.)

To Apply

Squeeze just one or two drops of this intensive, moisturizing, healing & beautifying elixir onto clean fingertips, rub together & lightly dab/spread onto specific areas (around the corners of the eyes, smooth over dry lips/cracks, on the forehead area, or wherever fine lines or irritation appears, as needed.) Gently massage in. Makeup can be applied within 1 - 2 minutes, as soon as the oil is absorbed. We also recommend adding a few drops of Camellia Oil to the bath or into body/hand lotion or generously, to the whole body, while still wet, after bathing. Use at night time, instead of moisturizer & in the morning (apply sparingly, after cleansing.) At day’s end or in the morning, thoroughly wash off, using a mild cleanser. Reapply when needed & use twice daily, for optimum results.

Apply before & after sports/recreational activities, as a sunblock & afterwards, to soothe, expediate healing & deeply moisturize. When applied before skiing, golf, swimming or any outdoor activity, Camellia Oil prevents UV-A UV-B damage, which can lead to skin cancer. Massage into the hairline & roots for scalp irritations & bacteria, like dandruff & to heal sensitivities to harsh hair chemicals and alcohol-based hair products. Leave on, through the night. Shampoo the following day. This intensive, nourishing & preventative treatment is recommended once or twice per week. Sa-yuri - Camellia Oil is a nourishing, healing hand, elbow, nail, cuticle, foot treatment for dry, cracking skin, irritations & callous formations. For improved moisturizing & deeply penetrating healing effects, apply Camellia Oil immediately after bathing or when the skin is still damp & then slip on soft, white cotton gloves or socks, over night.
